Tom Daniewski

Based in Perth, WA, Tom is Salsa’s chief information security officer (CISO). He ensures Salsa has adequate security controls in place to reduce our risk and exposure to cyber security threats.

As a CISO, Tom establishes and strengthens Salsa’s cybersecurity capabilities and resilience. He ensures our IT infrastructure and technologies are secure and protected, including our clients’ data.

Tom is a cybersecurity expert and works part-time with Salsa as an adviser.

He also works with some of our clients, offering recommendations for improved cybersecurity.

Previous experience

Tom has over 20 years of global, cross-industry experience in information/communications security, risk, resilience and privacy. He has worked within the cybersecurity field across Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa.

Before joining Salsa, Tom was the CISO for the Federal Court of Australia. Over the course of his career, Tom has gained valuable cybersecurity skills and experience by working in diverse industry sectors including defence, government, media and entertainment, financial services and management consulting.

He has held formal appointments advising on cybersecurity and privacy to the Australian Government, European Union’s Government and UK’s Information Commissioner Office.

Earlier in Tom’s career, he served as a submariner in the Royal Australian Navy and signals officer in the Australian Army.
