Based in Sydney, Chris sits on the Salsa Board, guiding our strategy and future direction. He previously led Salsa’s sales and marketing as Chief Revenue Officer.
Previous experience
Chris has more than 25 years of experience growing technology companies. He began as an IT consultant in the 1990s, working with telcos in the United Kingdom, Finland, Poland and Thailand. He then moved into emerging tech, helping to scale successful start-ups such as Plumtree (portal), Endeca (guided search), Acquia (content management) and Hortonworks (big data). Chris later launched Confluent in Asia-Pacific before serving as Asia-Pacific Vice-President at Drift and Hasura.
As APAC Director at Acquia, Chris partnered with the Department of Finance to launch and run the GovCMS program—an achievement that remains a career highlight. After Acquia, he mentored Salsa and helped us secure the GovCMS contract we manage today.
Chris has been a Salsa Board member since 2018, steering our strategic direction and sharing his deep industry insight.
Hobbies
Among other things, Chris likes the Arsenal soccer team and free diving, and makes custom Fedora hats under the brand The Disguised Flamingo.
