The details on this page represents the goal, activities, deliverables and resources for conducting a feature mapping as part of a site migration project.
The feature mapping is step 4 of a 24 step project delivery process Salsa has designed for migrating (or upgrading) sites from a legacy or proprietary CMS to Drupal 9.

1B: Mapping
Goal
Map all source CMS site features to Drupal 8/9 site features
Activities
Offline mapping of all source CMS site features to equivalent “like for like” features in Drupal 8/9
Identify and capture any gaps where no like for like feature mappings are available.
Workshop with stakeholder(s) / product owner to validate feature mappings and discuss alternative functionality/requirements for gaps.
Document all mappings, including solution / approaches to addressing gaps
