This year has been another fantastic year here and overseas for digital transformation in government (DTIG). Our 2022 DTIG stories have mainly fallen into two groups — strategy/policy and case studies (DTIG in action). In this edition we highlight the best from these two groups and also an enlightening report on people’s experiences of digital government.
Important policy/strategy blogs this year are:
The 2022 update for Australia’s Digital Economy Strategy — looking at how Australia is progressing across five key foundation areas aimed to transform us into a world-leading digital economy and society by 2030.
Australia’s AI Action Plan — covering four focus areas to turn us into a global leader in AI.
The DTA’s Digital Review — looking at digital capability in the Australian Government.
Some of our favourite case studies this year include:
LiveTraffic NSW and One Road — how real-time data is helping people plan their journeys.
5G projects for digital transformation — a look at projects that received funding as part of the Australian 5G Innovation Initiative.
The UK’s open source cyber security scripts — a collection of open source scripts to find specific vulnerabilities.
Another extremely important DTIG for 2022 was our coverage of The ‘Connected Government Report: The Future of Digital Service’. This report brings together research data from over 35,000 people. A must-read for all public servants!
