As we wrap up 2025, we want to thank our clients, partners, and the broader open source community for another year of collaboration and progress. This year saw continued momentum across , Drupal CMS transitions and Rules as Code initiatives, along with deeper involvement in emerging ecosystem work such as . Government agencies continued to focus on accessibility, security uplift and platform maturity, and it has been a privilege to support this transformation across our shared digital landscape.
Our community involvement
Community is central to who we are. This year we continued our deep engagement with the Drupal ecosystem through:
- Contributions to Drupal AI
- Active involvement in DrupalSouth
- Participation in DrupalCon Nara
- Hosting all Melbourne Drupal meetups throughout the year
These engagements help maintain a strong, collaborative community and support the maturity of the platforms that many government agencies rely on.
Our open source contributions
Open source remains central to our work. In 2025, the Salsa team contributed 3760 hours across a range of initiatives:
- 2332 hours to CivicTheme
- 978 hours contributed to Drupal CMS, Drupal Core, contributed projects, and the Drupal AI initiative
- 90 hours to
- 165 hours to the Rules as Code Adaptive Policy Management Project
- 195 hours to the RaC
These contributions help strengthen accessibility, security, performance and long-term sustainability across the platforms we deliver and support.
In addition to volunteered hours, Salsa invested financially in the Drupal ecosystem and Rules as Code through:
- Drupal Association membership
- Contribution to DrupalAI
- Contribution to the RMIT Adaptive Policy (Rules as Code) Project
These investments ensure long-term stability and innovation across the digital ecosystems our clients depend on.
Our donations and sponsorships
Alongside our technical contributions and the ecosystem investments mentioned above, Salsa supported several organisations focused on health, wellbeing, inclusion and community impact. These contributions sit within our total 2025 giving of approximately $47,000 AUD and include:
- National Breast Cancer
- Melbourne Indigenous Transition
- Beyond as part of our participation
In addition, the Salsa team raised $11,221 for Beyond Blue through the 2025 Coastrek event.
Holiday office hours
Salsa will be closed from Monday 22 December to Friday 2 January.
Our Service Desk will remain open throughout the holiday period, except on public holidays, to support critical issues and keep platforms running smoothly.
