Salsa is looking for a dynamic Social Marketing Strategist who can take our social engagement to the next level. We're looking for someone to work with the content team to co-develop and contribute to creating social media content. 

Key activities include identifying relevant social communities, audiences and channels, and authentic and consistent engagement representing thought leadership aligned with Salsa's brand voice and values.

As the Social Marketing Strategist you'll be responsible for:

  • Developing relevant social media strategies
  • Community engagement
  • Key influencers assessment
  • Key topics assessment
  • Being a part of and contributing to an agile-based marketing team

You'll be a valued member of the Salsa Digital marketing team reporting to the Marketing Lead. As with all roles at Salsa, you'll contribute to and support a positive, productive workplace culture in accordance with company values.

This role is permanently remote.


  • Strategy development
    • Review social media accounts to inform potential goals and strategies for key audiences 
    • Develop content plan/s to meet goals for relevant social channels
  • Community engagement
    • Review draft social content created by Salsarians
    • Optimise and craft content for relevant social channels
  • Deliver and monitor quality content across social media channels
    • Manage and monitor Salsa social channels, represent Salsa brand voice in posts and replies while monitoring other identified key social accounts
    • Research, assess and build a portfolio of key influencers and maintain a register of identified key influencers
    • Research, assess and provide suggestions of relevant key themes and topics to start, participate and maintain authentic engagement

Skills (must haves)

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communication, digital marketing or equivalent industry experience
  • At least 3 years' experience in social media marketing ideally in the digital space
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Amazing attention to detail and passion for digital marketing

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

The following KPIs are desired and presented here as a point of reference for discussion and will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

  • Community engagement
    • Craft and review 4 social content posts per month
    • Increase community engagement on Salsa social channels by at least 10% each month
  • Deliver and monitor quality content across social media channels
    • All engagements and replies are acknowledged and/or responded to within 12 hours of posting
    • Create and maintain an up-to-date key influencers register
    • At least 2 new key influencers are added to the key influencers register each month
    • Engagement of at least 1 new key influencer each month on each of Salsa’s social channels
    • Provide at least 2 suggested relevant key themes and/or topics to start, participate and maintain authentic engagement each month
