Happy Holidays 2023

Article summary: Salsa would like to wish everyone a festive and safe holiday season. As usual, this year we've made cash donations and open source contributions in lieu of Christmas presents for our clients. In total, we've donated 2567 hours to open source projects and over $35,000 to charities and open source organisations.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from Salsa

It’s been a pleasure to work with our fantastic clients and partners this year to deliver some amazing work. We also actively participated in DrupalSouth (in New Zealand)External Link , DrupalCon EuropeExternal Link , GovCMS Mega MeetupExternal Link , DrupalSouth Community DayExternal Link , and hosted all the Melbourne Drupal MeetupsExternal Link .

Opening hours

During the Christmas and New Year period, Salsa will be open on all days except the public holidays of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

While many members of the team are away, there will be some Salsarians on duty!

Donating to charities and open source projects

In lieu of hampers, socks, or ‘knick-knacks’, each year Salsa donates to charities on behalf of Salsa and the ‘extended’ Salsa family (our partners and clients). This year, we’ve made the following cash donations and sponsorships to the value of over $35,000. This figure is spread out across:

Giving back to the community

During 2023, Salsa has also contributed back to the Drupal and government communities in Australia.

Time volunteered as contributions in 2023 include:

  • 1150 hours to building CivicTheme, an open source design system
  • 693 hours to Drupal (core and contributed projects)
  • 264 hours to CKAN
  • 93 hours to Merlin, an open source migration tool
  • 126 hours to Drupal Meetups
  • 120 hours to GovCMS Mega Meetup
  • 43 hours to the DrupalSouth Community Day
  • 78 hours to DrupalCon Europe
